'The Lone Ranger' was a box office disaster this summer, especially when you add that Johnny Depp co-starred in the film.

The movie was made for around $250 million and only grossed $175.5 at the box office. Disney will take a write-down of $160 to $190 million in the fourth quarter, the company said Tuesday.

However, when you listen to the cast, they have stronger opinions on why exactly the movie wasn't as successful at the box office. Watch the Cast Interview HERE

"I think the reviews were probably written when they heard that Gore and Jerry and I were going to do 'The Lone Ranger,'" Depp said. He added, "I think that Gore made a very brave film."

Hammer  shared the same feelings, "They've been gunning for our movie since it was shut down the first time."

"I think that's probably when most of the critics wrote their initial reviews," Armie Hammer said, who plays John Reid (Lone Ranger).

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer had this to add, "I think they were reviewing the budget, not the movie." He continued,  "The critics keep crying for original movies. You make one, and they don't like it."
