Jim Kelly's Wife Jill Thanks Jesus After NFL Hall of Famer is Diagnosed Cancer Free (VIDEOS)

The wife of legendary NFL Quarterback Jim Kelly recently went on social media to update the status regarding her husband's battle with cancer.

"We have come away from our checkup visit in NYC encouraged and hopeful. Preliminary scan results have necessitated the need for biopsies to be done in order to confirm what we hope to be true...that the cancer has been eradicated," wrote Jill Kelly via Instagram on August 20.

"We will not know the outcome until this procedure is completed. And so... We continue to PRAY, rejoice, live...wait and trust GOD who holds ALL things together. God, who is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End and every moment in between," she said.

Lenox Hill Hospital's [New York Head and Neck Institute] Doctor Peter Costantino issued an announcement regarding Kelly's health status, "The treatments so far have completely eliminated Mr. Kelly's pain and his level of function has essentially returned to normal," said Dr. Peter Costantino in a report, according to USA Today. "Further, on physical examination, there is no evidence of the cancer."

Previously, the 54-year-old East Brady, Pennsylvania talked about how his personal relationship with Jesus Christ has helped through the good times and bad times.

In addition, he also talked about other issues he persevered from in the past, thanks to his faith in the Trinity.

"There is no way I'd be here without my faith. It's been such a roller coaster. So many things." said Jim Kelly to Sports Illustrated in March.

"The Super Bowl losses, the fabulous career, my son born sick, making the Hall of Fame, my son dying, two plates and 10 screws in my back after major surgery, one plate and six screws in my neck after another surgery, a double hernia, the cancer, surgery on my jaw, the cancer coming back, now what I'm facing."

After the miraculous news was revealed regarding the football legend being cancer-free, Kelly's wife Jill thanked the fans for their support of Jim's recent battle with oral cancer.

"In the midst of it all, I know He's got this. Thank you for praying! Thank you for holding us up during this time. We are so grateful for you! #prayersforjk #kellytough," wrote Jill Kelly on Instagram a few days ago.

Kelly was inducted to the NFL's Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002, after playing 11 seasons in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills from 1986-1996.
