Jeremy Lin News: Linsanity Reveals His Thoughts on Lecrae’s New 'Anomaly' Album [VIDEOS]

Jeremy Lin recently revealed his thoughts regarding the Christian rapper Lecrae and how the Reach Records artist impacted his NBA career.

"My name is Jeremy, and my life journey has been nothing like none other #ANOMALY," wrote Lin on Twitter on June 3.

Jeremy Lin has made it known in the past how much the 35-year-old Houston, Texas native has impacted his life and his professional basketball career prior to the 'Linsanity' craze.

"I was struggling so much in the trenches, and then I heard the song (Background)...Letting God take the lead, surrendering my life to him and letting him work through me. That's incredible. That's exactly what I need to hear," said Lin to the Bleacher Report.

"I kept listening to that song. I got sent to the D-League [three times]. I was getting benched-all these different things, all these tough scenarios. That song reminded me God has my back. God has the lead. I'm His servant. I'm His steward. I will go where He calls me to go, and I will do what He calls me to do. That was really, really impactful for me."

As a result, Lecrae's "Background" became his official theme song, after the popular song debuted on the critically acclaimed album, Rehab, that released on September 28, 2010.

Lin recalled the day when he and his friend Noah met and spoke to Lecrae backstage at one of the rapper's concerts in Houston.

"The next thing I know, Noah is sharing his life story, and Lecrae is just sharing everything," said Lin, "explaining everything, breaking down the gospel."

Lin also talked about how amazed he was that Lecrae was willing to delay the start of his concert in order to share the Gospel with a perfect stranger (Noah).

"What?!" said Lin, "This guy is about to perform in front of like 10 ... 20,000 people, and he's telling the person who keeps rushing him, 'Hold on, give me a sec,' because he's talking to one of my friends that he has no idea about, just met and will never see again probably. When I saw that, I was like, 'OK, this is ridiculous.'"

Lecrae shared his thoughts on the Lin using the Holy Scriptures (Luke 6:29 - If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them) to expresses his feelings about the Houston Rockets posting a billboard with Carmelo Anthony wearing his jersey number (prior to the Lin trade to the Los Angeles Lakers).

"Obviously there are very few people who would've taken that approach," said Lecrae, "It's not a pious, 'I'm better than you, so I'm going to quote scripture.' It's saying, 'Of course this affects me, but this is the response that I need to have.' ... I think that flies in the face of a lot of his peers. That's anomaly stuff right there."

Lecrae's Anomaly album was released on September 9, 2014.
