It might be fantastic to think that 'Fantastic Four' co-stars Jamie Bell and Kate Mara are dating especially since the two were spotted holding hands at the recent Met Gala but reports just confirmed that the two are simply friends and possibly best friends.

After being captured in several photographs holding hands at the Costume Institute Gala on Monday, Bell and Mara sparked dating rumors as they apparently also arrived together. But reports claim that the two are just friends and that Bell is just being a gentleman with Mara at the stylish event.

"They are the very best of friends, longtime friends. Nothing more," a source told E! News. The source also explained the whole holding hands thing that Bell and Mara were spotted doing upon arriving at the event. "He was being a gentleman helping her out of the car and walking in her high heels. Good men do that," the source added.

Well, it could really be just a friendly escorting but the next day when the two were spotted yet again together this time in their casual clothes with Bell looking like in his Gala outfit but losing his suit with only his white under shirt and his black pants and leather shoes, reports are back to claiming that they might have spent the night together after attending the MET Gala after party.

Reports also speculate that if indeed the two did not spend the night together, the 'Fantastic Four' co-stars may want to have breakfast together as they were photographed together taking a stroll in New York City the day after the big event.

Although, until now, there in still no confirmation regarding the relationship status of the two but what is definite is that Bell and Mara have had a long history of friendship that has become even more visible as they are both working on the upcoming Marvel film 'Fantastic Four' which is reportedly releasing in theaters on June 2, 2017.
