‘Iron Man 4' Release Date, Cast Rumors: 2019 Clues at Comic-Con 2014, Robert Downey Jr. On Board

Even though an official launch date for 'Iron Man 4' has not been announced, rumor has it that the upcoming blockbuster film is looking at a May 3, 2019 release. Also, fans are hoping to see Robert Downey Jr. on the big screen when the fourth installment in the film franchise finally debuts.

Marvel Studios recently revealed a list of films that will be on their line up for years to come during the 2014 Comic-Con event. According to analysts, if they were to follow the list, it is likely that 'Iron Man 4' would be released on the aforementioned date.

That may come across as good new to some, however, many fans are disappointed about a five year wait.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Downey Jr. hinted about his open options for continuing his role as the Iron Man, he said, "It's down to Kevin (Fiege, Marvel Studios president) and Ike (Perlmutter, CEO of Marvel Entertainment) and Disney to come to us with what proposal is, and that's on us to agree or disagree."

He made mention that went things go well for a film franchise, most involved in its production tend to agree with each other most of the time, "When things are going great, there's a lot of agreement," he said.

As it stands, it seems that the 'Iron Man' franchise is on the rise, as each and every sequential installment grosses more than the last, "This has been a really good one and it feels good and we're having a good time," said Downey Jr.

Downey Jr. has been named the highest paid actor on the Forbes list when he earned $75 million last year, most of which was attributed to his role as Iron Man.

"It's that thing of: Why give up the belt when it feels like you can barely get jabbed?" Downey Jr. said, "Most people are saying that right when they get knocked out."
