Iraqi TV Host Nahi Mahdi Speaks For Christians Being Oppressed by ISIS on Live Television (VIDEO)

Iraqi TV Host Nahi Mahdi cried on live television when he discussed the issue of Christians being oppressed by ISIS in Iraq because of their religious beliefs.

"Yes, the Christians," said Mahdi on Asia TV on July 20 as he wept because of the persecution his fellow citizens are facing in the Middle East nation, "Today... I cried at home."

Mahdi further expressed his thoughts on the plight that is directly affecting Iraq and the world.

"They are our own flesh and blood," said Mahdi, "Some of them have left for Sweden or Germany .... Who does [ISIS] think it is to drive out our fellow countrymen?!"

Another panelist echoed his sentiments during the heartfelt discussion regarding religious freedom.

"[It is terrible] when people come and force you to leave your home," said one of the speakers on the show, "This is what happened to the Christians today."

Iraqi poet Abu Al-Hassanein Al-Rub'i also expressed his thoughts on the serious issue regarding the ISIS terrorist group killing at least 5,500 Iraqi civilians, injuring more than 11,600 people, and causing over 1.2 million people to flee their Iraqi homes since January, according to a Christian Today report.

"The Christians have done nothing wrong. They haven't hurt a soul. On the contrary, they are peaceful people, who love all sects. They are honorable people, with high moral values," said Al-Rub'i.

"They always maintain their sense of justice. We stand a hundred per cent in solidarity with them," he added.

Mahdi begs his Iraqi government to intervene on the behalf of the Christians being persecuted because they did not convert to Islam due to their strong faith in Jesus Christ.

"I want to take the people of Mosul and the government to task," said Mahdi.

"They must take immediate measures to help these people. Our country is like a rose, and its petals are the Christians, the Arabs, the Kurds, the Sabians, the Shabak people... these are all our countrymen. I don't know what to say about this."
