iPod Touch 6th Gen Release Date & Features 2014: Apple to Launch Two Screen Size Models?

Even though Apple fans recently availed the new devices and products out of the Cupertino stable, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iO8, iPad Air 2, to name a few, some are still eagerly awaiting another upcoming gadget.

Techies are looking forward to hearing news about the upcoming iPod 6th generation device, but there has been no exact release date announcement as of yet.

Consumers have been lucky in the past as Apple usually releases a new iPod Touch device every other year, barring 2014 so far.

However, there is hope on the horizon as there's still a chance that the device will be released before the holiday season. If Apple announces the new device before Thanksgiving, the tech titan might be able to put the new iPod out onto shelves before 2015.

Some enthusiasts and analysts are of the view that Apple is waiting to process and consider the reception of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. Supposedly, Apple is unsure about what screen size would be best to implement on the iPod 6th generation.

Provided Apple really announces a new iPod Touch, it is speculated that the appearance of the device will be somewhat akin to that of the iPhone 6. In fact, even the 5th generation had a resemblance to the iPhone 5.

In addition, it is believed that the new iPod Touch may also follow the size scheme of the latest iPhones - iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, making two size variants of the device rather than having just one. The iPod Touch 6th Generation may also come with a Retina display and a TouchID fingerprint sensor.
