iPod Touch 6G Release Date Rumors: Will Apple Ever Launch iPod Touch 6G?

The months ahead will be very hectic for Apple, as the Cupertino-headquartered tech giant has lined up the release of a number of its latest devices and possibly the much-anticipated iOS 8. Unfortunately, iPod Touch 6G does not feature on Apple's long list of devices that will be releasing soon.

In fact, Apple released the fifth generation Touch, the last iPod Touch, alongside the iPhone 5s about two years back. Since then, the iPod Touch has been a very popular product, and during the last two years it has been acclaimed in the form of a major redefinition of the line since Apple introduced it some seven years ago.

To a great extent, the fifth generation iPod Touch was redesigned to look like the iPhone 5 - with a 4-inch display, iSight, Siri, slimmer shell, and at the same time, comes in an assortment of colors.

Now, as the release date of the much-awaited iPhone 6 draws near, iPod fans have been wondering when Apple will be announcing the upcoming iPod Touch 6G. In fact, they are disappointed that Apple has not yet made any announcement in this regard.

Usually, Apple redesigns any one of its product lines once every two years, similar to what the company has done with the iPhone 5 as well as the fifth gen iPod Touch. Since, two years have already passed since Apple launched the iPod Touch fifth gen, it is expected that the company will now come up with a redesign of the iPod Touch 6th gen.

Nevertheless, the possibility of a 6th generation Touch is not bleak, as Apple may be be planning to launch the much-awaited device sometime in the future. Fans should keep hoping, as Apple may focus on the 6th generation iPod Touch once it is finished with the release of the iPhone 6 coming out on Sept. 9.
