iPod Touch 6G Release Date Rumors: Next-Gen Apple iPod Launches this Fall with iPhone 6s?

While Apple has yet to make any official announcement regarding the much-anticipated iPod Touch 6th generation (6G), many fans of the Cupertino-based tech titan are still expecting the company to release a new media player.

According to Christian Post, Apple rolled out the last iPod touch over two years back. Since then there has been no news on whether the Cupertino tech giant still plans to develop a new version of their hugely popular portable music device with a touchscreen feature. Nevertheless, some consumers are still hopeful about getting another product from the iPod line. In fact, they are keen to get a new iPod touch with specs that are superior compared to the dual-core A5 chip and 5-megapixel built-in camera of its predecessor.

While the fifth generation iPod touch came with several improvements compared to the earlier models, sales data proved that the device performed very poorly on the market. In fact, the release of many smartphones capable of performing the tasks of a portable music player drastically affected the sales of the fifth generation iPod touch.

Nevertheless, the rumor mill is still churning out new stories and most recent rumors claim that Apple may be releasing the next iPod touch some time later this year together with the next iPhone. In case these rumors prove to be true, then the iPod touch 6th generation will be released alongside either the iPhone 7 or the iPhone 6s in the Fall of 2015. It is expected that the iPod 6G will be available in different colors, including silver, red, green, pink, orange in addition to Apple Inc.'s signature space grey.

According to rumors, the purported iPod Touch 6G It will sport a 5.5-inch screen, similar to the current iPhone 6 Plus, rendering a display resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. In addition, the purported device is likely to come with an 8-MP iSight camera along with a 1.5-MP front-facing secondary camera.

A recent report in the Day Herald claimed that the 6th generation iPod touch will have a tag price similar to its predecessor. In other words, the 32 GB model will have a price tag of $299, while the 64 GB model will cost $399.
