iPhone 5S VS Galaxy S4 Specs, Camera, and Battery Life Review: Does Apple or Samsung Make a Better Christmas Present? [Video]
The holiday season is here and one of the biggest sale items that everyone needs is a smartphone. The question is, which one should you buy? Right now, it is easy to narrow your choice down to two items: the Apple iPhone 5S or the Samsung Galaxy S4. But which device suits your needs for great specs, a fantastic camera and long-lasting battery life? Let's take a look at these two phones and compare which one is better for your holiday gift.
First, let's take a look at the camera's on each of these phones. The iPhone camera shoots in 8 MP instead of the Galaxy S4's 13 MP, but it does come with really cool features like slow-motion and the burst-photography which takes a series of photos and automatically chooses the best one. The Galaxy S4 probably takes better pictures outside in direct sunlight, but inside, the iPhone 5S's quality is hard to beat.
The next category that consumers find extremely important is battery life. Let's just cut to the chase and close this argument up. The iPhone 5S wins by a landslide in this category. With both phones set to the same brightness settings and used in the same way, the iPhone stayed on for over 6 hours while the S4 shut off at around 4. The only positive that the S4 has in this category is that you can easily switch out a fresh battery on the go if you are running low on your first one.
The last category that people find important is the overall performance and smoothness of your phone. The iPhone has an A7 chip that makes it slightly faster than the S4, but there really aren't any apps out there that push either phone to the edge of its capabilities. They both run almost every app out there very smoothly on their own operating systems.
So there you have it, if you want a phone that has great battery life, get the iPhone. If you want a phone that takes great, clear pictures, get the S4. Both phones are fantastic and would make good holiday gifts.
