'Injustice 2' News, Release Date: Game Now In Development; Set To Arrive In 2017

The second "Injustice" video game is now in development and it was announced first at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016. Entitled, "Injustice 2," this videogame is sure to entice gamers, comic book fans and almost everyone who looks up to super heroes in general.

The original "Injustice: Gods Amongst Us" was a huge success. It showed dominance in the gaming industry with its availability on gaming consoles as well as mobile apps. It won numerous "Fighting Game of The Year" awards from different game aggregates and organizations. At one time it was the highest selling game in the US during its debut month back in April of 2013.

According to Christian Today, the sequel is expected to bring in new characters and is bound for a release in 2017. Game editor Ed Boon conducted a poll on Twitter; asking fans which superhero they would want to be added in the upcoming DC fighting videogame.

The question read, "Who do you MOST want to see in Injustice 2?" Blue Beetle garnered 39 percent of the votes, Swamp Thing got 35 percent while Captain Cold got the least amount of votes among the top three with 26 percent.

Also, according to Game Informer, Boon said that they will once again include another non-DC character in the game.

"I always think there's a novelty to it and there's a certain amount of people who think that when they see a guest character that it took the slot of a DC character that they wanted to have. But you know, Scorpion in 'Injustice' was the most downloaded of all the characters," Boon said.

"There was a coolness and a novelty factor to seeing the mixing of the things. Alien and Predator in Mortal Kombat X were the most downloaded of those, so I would be surprised if we didn't do any of that [in Injustice 2]."

"Injustice 2" is set to be released sometime in 2017.
