Huawei Mate 8 Release Date: Flagship Device Unveiling at Berlin 2015 IFA Likely

Huawei, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, is gearing up to unveil its upcoming Huawei Mate 8 flagship handset at the IFA 2015 trade event in Berlin, Germany, on Sept. 2. According to rumors, the design as well as specifications of the upcoming Huawei Mate 8 will form the basis for the Huawei Nexus 2015.

A report in IB Times states that the upcoming Huawei Mate 8 will be a phablet, since the device is likely to feature a huge display of 6 inches and support Quad HD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.

Meanwhile, Phone Arena has claimed claims that the Chinese manufacturer will continue with full HD resolution displays for all its future smartphones. Substantiating its view, the website reported that this is the reason why the complay has released the Huawei P8max with a large display of 6.8 inches along with support for full HD resolution.

Nevertheless, as Google plans to release the Huawei-built Nexus 2015 smartphone with Quad HD resolution, the Chinese manufacturer opted for the Quad HD resolution on the Mate 8.

It is expected that the Huawei Mate 8 will be powered by the company's home-made HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset. However, no official announcement has been made in this regard yet. Android Authority reports that the chipset will feature an octa-core processor, in addition to quad cores of Cortex A72 and quad cores of Cortex A53. The processor will be able to produce the utmost processing speed of 2.4 GHz. In addition, the chipset includes ARM Mali-T80 graphics.

The Huawei Mate 8 will come in two internal storage variants along with different capacities of RAM. While the 32 GB model will be housing 3 GB of RAM, the 64 GB variant will come with 4 GB.

The Huawei Mate 8 will be a dual-SIM handset, in addition to featuring a fingerprint scanner. As of now, the precise Android OS that it will be shipped is not known yet.

As regards to the camera division, the upcoming Huawei flagship will sport a 20.7-megapixel rear camera along with an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The previous Huawei Ascend Mate 7 featured a massive 4,100 mAh capacity battery and, hence, it is expected that the Huawei Mate 8 will pack an even larger battery unit.
