HTC One M8 Prime Release Date, Features: Dust and Water-Resistant Smartphone to Launch October 2014

With the speculated release of the HTC One M8 Prime, HTC Corporation is all set to improve its smartphone sales and continue its drive to compete with the Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy series of mobile phones.

While not much is known about the specifications of the new HTC One M8 Prime phablet, the Internet is loaded with rumors and leaks regarding details of this forthcoming device.

Superior Screen

Various websites have reported that the HTC One M8 Prime is likely to have a 5.5-inch, 2560 X 1440 Quad high definition display. That should allow the phablet to compete alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the wider range of Android-based larger devices on the market.

Powerful Processor

According to a recent leak, the HTC One M8 Prime will incorporate a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor coupled with 3GB RAM. If this rumor is true, the new phablet will be super fast enabling users to perform dissimilar activities on their device.

Upgraded Operating System

Several reports have hinted that the HTC One M8 Prime will be available with Google Android KitKat, in addition to Sense 6.5 user interface from HTC.

It is apparent that this smartphone will support category 6 LTE, which enables a maximum 300 mbps download speed. If this is true, the HTC One M8 Prime will be equivalent to the rumored power behind Apple's forthcoming smartphone, which could be titled the iPhone 6.

Camera Upgrade

Recent tweets from @evleaks revealed a full 3D render of the real device that the Taiwanese tech firm has made for future press kits of HTC One M8 Prime.

The image is similar to that of HTC One M8, but the camera of the new device has a bump on the rear hinting that the upcoming device will incorporate an upgraded camera, which is expected to be an 18-megapixel duo camera and a 5-megapixed front-facing camera.

Water-Proof Casing

Latest rumors suggest that the HTC One M8 Prime will have an aluminum and liquid silicon composite casing, and will be water-resistant. The new device will be the flagship phone of HTC - so it should be elegant, light and durable.
