'How To Get Away With Murder' Season 3 Spoilers: Release Date And Time Finally Confirmed

With the recent disclosure of the release date and time of for season 3, fans of "How to Get Away with Murder" are now over the moon.

The announcement was made by Viola Davis, the actress behind the character of Annalise Keating, on her Facebook page.

Earlier this year, showrunner Peter Nowalk confirmed that season 3 of the drama series will feature a format that is different from its predecessors, so as to prevent it from becoming stagnant.

"I like switching it up, honestly. I don't want the show to become stale. In the back half of season 2, we had so much emphasis on Rose's case that there wasn't room for cases of the week. We'll probably try to do a balance," he said.

The season 2 finale saw Wes confront his alleged biological father Wallace, but the latter was shot in the head just when they were about to get close. The incident happened in broad daylight and the identity of the killer remains a mystery up to this time.

According to Nowalk, the identity of the murderer may be revealed in the first minute of season 3.

"There are two options for me--it's either in the first minute in the show, or that's a longer mystery because it's a more complicated story," he said.

As of this writing, details on the casting of season 3 remain kept under wraps. However, it has recently been revealed that Oliver, a fan favorite, will be promoted to a series regular in the upcoming season.

"How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 premieres on Sept. 22 on ABC.
