'House Of Cards' Season 5 Release Date, Cast News: Patricia And Campbell Joining Fifth Season Cast?

The official release date of "House of Cards" season 5 has yet to be announced but updates about the series are already surfacing.

Just recently, it was confirmed that "House of Cards" has added new members to its cast. The new cast additions include Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott, both no novices in the entertainment industry. Clarkson and Scott both have established their careers in the show business over the years and fans can't get any more excited to know what roles they will play in the upcoming series.

As of now, Netflix has not yet revealed any hint on the nature of their roles so their characters remain open to debates.

An Academy Award nominee in 2003 for her role in "Pieces of April," Patricia Clarkson has had her fair share of feats in the entertainment industry. She is known for her roles in popular series such as "Murder One" and "Six Feet Under."

For her part, Campbell Scott has earned a broad range of experience from both television and movie exploits. He starred in "Amazing Spider Man" and "Royal Pains."

While their roles in the upcoming series remain kept under wraps, reports claim that their roles are going to be major. There are speculations that their characters will work for or against the interest of Frank Underwood.

In other news, "House of Cards" writers Frank Pugliese and Melissa James Gibson have reportedly been promoted as showrunners of the popular political drama. On the other hand, former showrunner Beau Willimon will no longer be back for the fifth season.

"House of Cards" season 5 is expected to premiere in February or March 2017.
