'House of Cards' Season 3 Release Date, Plot Spoilers: Jenna Stern Brings Her Expertise

Fans of the popular political drama, 'House of Cards', will be delighted to learn that Jenna Stern of 'Law & Order' is joining the show to offer her expertise in the next season of the series on Netflix.

TVLine reported on Oct. 16 that Stern has signed up for a recurring role on 'House of Cards', but added that the details regarding the deal have yet to be disclosed. This exciting casting news comes in the wake of the recent report that the 'Gone Girl' actress Kim Dickens is also joining the show. However, the show creators have kept the nature of Dickens' role under wraps.

Meanwhile, latest reports say that currently the filming for 'House of Cards' is underway in Washington D.C., perhaps to lend some authenticity to the setting.

However, Maryland still remains the location for most of the filming. Even the previous two seasons of the 'House of Cards' were filmed in Maryland. In fact, Kevin Spacey, who portrays the character of Frank Underwood in the show, was recently spotted filming a scene at a cemetery in Maryland.

As far as the storyline of the 'House of Cards' Season 3 is concerned, it deals with the interesting subject of America's foreign affairs, especially Russia, which has been a sticky issue for the United States of late.

On that note, It has been reported that a feminist punk group that was persecuted in Russia allegedly for blasphemy and their anti-establishment protest, will be guest starring in Season 3, portraying themselves.

Initially, the filming of 'House of Cards' Season 3 in Maryland hit a roadblock and some legal matters got in the way of shooting the series. However, the issue was finally resolved on April 25, and 'House of Cards' began filming its dramatic Season 3. Most estimates claim that House of Cards Season 3 will premiere on Netflix in February 2015.
