Homeland Season 3 Episode 1 "Tin Man Is Down" is set to premiere Sunday, September 29 at 9 PM ET on Showtime.

The Season 3 premiere of Homeland picks up in the aftermath of the December 12 terrorist bombing of CIA headquarters. Two months later, Carrie [Claire Danes] is at the center of an investigation to find out who was responsible for the bombing that killed Vice President Walden, his family, and Deputy Director of National Clandestine Services David Estes, among a couple hundred others.

With Estes gone, Saul [Mandy Patinkin] is now Acting Director at Langley.

After failing to kill the Vice President in the previous terrorist mission, Al Qaeda frames Brody with the confession video, framing Brody [Damian Lewis] for the bombing. Saul now leads the charge on finding Brody, whose chosen to flee to Candada.

Though he doesn't' appear in the first or second episodes [in real time] his face does pop up at some point in the Season 3 premiere.

Carrie, believing Brody, her one time flame, is innocent, aids the fugitive and helps him escape the country.

Obviously with Saul in charge of hunting Brody down, and Carrie helping him out, the former mentor-mentee relationship will be a little strained.
