'Haikyuu' Season 3 Episode 7 Recap, Episode 8 Spoilers & News: Ushijima's Spike Injures Tsukishima, Leaves Karasuno In A Pinch

It won't be long before "Haikyuu!!" season 3 comes to a close.

Last November 18, episode 7 titled "Obsession" picked up before the beginning of the fifth set. In the episode, Sugawara was placed as pinch setter to take the place of the drained Kageyama. Despite Sugawara's being a strong senior player, he could not help but lose his confidence during the game.

To his surprise, Shimizu comforted him as she held his hands. Sugawara and the rest of the team did not expect Shimizu to do that, since she was the team manager of Karasuno's volleyball team. Because of the unexpected scene, some fans now speculate that a romantic storyline might come for the two characters soon.

Meanwhile, Karasuno made the first break in the fifth set when he scored two points ahead of Shiratorizawa. After the latter forced a timeout, the set continued and Shiratorizawa came back strong, reminding Karasuno that he could not afford to be lax.

The episode also showed a flashback story of Shiratorizawa, which also explained how Satori and Ushikima became the fierce volleyball players that they are now.

Back to the game between Shiratorizawa and Karasuno, the latter suddenly had a hard time making points. Ushijima slammed them with a spike, letting them know that he was capable of changing the course of the game anyway he liked.

Karasuno countered his attack, with setter Sugawara spiking after libero Nishinoya set for him. After going against Ushijima's spike, Tsukishima was suddenly injured, leaving Karasuno in a pinch.

When Satori started playing serious and countering Sugawara's attacks, Karasuno knew he was already in trouble.

In episode 8, fans will know if Karasuno will win the fifth and final set unscathed.

"Haikyuu!!" Episode 8, titled "An Annoying Guy, airs this weekend.
