On the heels of their last album, Commodity, Dave Mohr announced his departure from the band Remedy Drive.

The young guitarist penned a blog recounting some of his joys, struggles and growth while in the band. He uses the four-year period as a sign that this era in his life is now over.

Mohr joined the band when David Zach took over after his brothers Daniel, Philip and Paul Zach all left the band. Mohr had a great run with Remedy drive as they went on to produce the albums Resuscitate, and Commodity.

In the announcement of his departure Mohr opened up the blog taking about the significance of the number four. "Four years of high school, four years of college, four years of Remedy Drive," he wrote, "My life has found a way to put itself into these patterns, and I find myself at the end of another four years."

"Like each of these periods, my time in Remedy Drive has been full of both intense joy, and intense struggle," he went on to write, "I am thankful for it all, and would not trade the experiences and memories for anything."

Mohr ultimately concluded the lengthy blog by saying, "I need to try something different. I need to use my abilities, musical, relational, mechanical and otherwise to try something new."

In the blog more clearly states that he does and will always cherish his time in Remedy Drive. "...It ends with nothing but complete respect for and belief in the people that will continue to further its cause," he said.

Mohr recently announced that he, his sister in law Olivia, and his wife Nicole (formerly of the band Press Play) have formed a band named The Era. The Era will reportedly be more of the roots/Americana/folk sound.
