Google Nexus 7 2016 Release Date Specs: New Tablet Equipped With Android N?; Set For August Launch

Rumors are going around that the Google Nexus 7 will have an August release date and will feature the newest Android N, which will reportedly carry the name "Nutella."

The Google I/O 2016 concluded in May without the Google Nexus 2016, despite all the rumors about the Android N's launch during the event. The developer preview was released in March, however, which will be followed by four more previews before the release date in the third quarter of this year.

The second and third developer previews were released in April and May.

"The fourth preview was launched earlier today and it is likely that the fifth preview will be arriving in the next month," IB Times said.

With all things considered, it's possible that the Android N will debut on the Google Nexus 7 2016, which is said to have an August release date.

It's been suggested that the Android N will be named Nutella after the company's senior vice president, Hiroshi Lockheimer, has referenced the hazelnut spread in his recent posts.

As to the specs of the Google Nexus 7 2016, PC Advisor shared the rumors about the device being powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820/Nvidia Tegra X1 processor with 4 GB of RAM with expendable memory of up to 2 TB. The pressure-sensitive display screen will also be around 7 inches.

All these remain rumors, however, and consumers will only have to wait for the release date of the Google Nexus 7 to find out which of the initial reports are true.
