Google Nexus 6 Release Date and Specs: HTC In-Charge of Creating the Phone

Google's flagship Nexus smartphone series get a sixth release sometime before the holiday season kicks in. Any specific dates have still not been announced and it is difficult to pinpoint an exact launch.

One thing is for sure, the Nexus 6 will not be created by LG as the previous versions have been. On the contrary, it will be HTC's turn to create Google's next release. LG had been adamant about not knowing anything about the development of the next Nexus phone.

There were rumors before that LG won't be creating the Nexus 6 and that HTC was taking control of the project, and it seems that the rumors have been proven to be true.

LG also has little knowledge of the Android Silver program, whereas Google has denied any allegations about it dumping the Nexus 6 in favor of the Android Silver.

The Nexus 6 is expected to come out as a high-end specs and hardware that will surely catch the eye of both Nexus fans and non-fans alike.

The Google smartphone that can almost be passed off as a phablet will have a screen size of 5.5-inches with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The screen will be boasting a pixel density of 534ppi ensuring the sharpest of displays. The screen will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, much like most of its competition.

The phone will be run by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core 2.7GHz Krait 450 processor, faster than most same-size smartphones in the market. The Nexus 6 will also be having an Adreno 420 graphics processor and 3GB RAM.

Its camera will also be a powerful 13MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing one. The camera isn't as powerful as the Lumia flagship series, but it is still above most smartphone models, even the iPhone 5 which only has an 8MP camera.
