Google Nexus 5 Release Date Rumors, Price / Nexus 5 VS Samsung Galaxy Note 3

For holiday 2013 shoppers, there will be a lot of great new smartphones to choose from. By that time two of the best phones out will be the Google Nexus 5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

While the Galaxy Note 3 release date is expected around September, some time close to the Samsung Unpacked Event. It's when the company released the Galaxy Note 2 and is expected to use the same event.

The Google Nexus 5 is expected a little later, most likely around October. This would be around the same time as a new Android release.

But which smartphone should you wait for?

The Galaxy Note 3 is likely to have a larger screen than the Nexus 5 at somewhere around 5.99-inch but is rumored to be as big as 6.3-inch. The Galaxy Note 3 display is rumored to also be Super AMOLED while the Nexus 7 is rumored to be a 5-inch display with Full HD screen display.

When it comes to the photo department, both phones are expected to feature 13-megapixel camera on the back.

The processors are pretty competitive as well. The Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to have an 8-core Exynos 6 Octa processor. Google is believed to be installing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor under the hood of the new Nexus 7. The Nexus processor is expected to run at 2.3GHz and 3GB RAM.

Similar to the Google Nexus 7, the Nexus 5 will probably have a more expensive price tag than previous models. Insiders believe the price could be somewhere around $299. As for the Galaxy Note 3 price; it's anybody's guess. Many Samsung experts believe an unlocked version of the Galaxy Note 3 could run buyers anywhere around $800.
