Google Nexus 10 2 Release Date, Features Rumors: Everything Users Need to Know

Rumors about the Google Nexus 10 2 tablet's release have been circulating since last year, but the Santa Clara-based tech giant has still not confirmed any official news regarding the eagerly awaited device.

Tech Radar has reported that if the timelines remain consistent with past releases then the Nexus 10 2 will be unveiled at the upcoming Google I/O in May.

Google's latest flagship tablet is said to be a serious competitor with Apple's iPad Air in terms of specifications and price, though certainly there are major differences in terms of the hardware.

Aside from a 10.1-inch display, which is common to tablets today, the Nexus 10 2 also is rumored to feature a full HD resolution (2560 x 1600) screen with 300ppi pixel density.  Google's second generation tablet  will also likely come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 quad core chip, contrary to earlier reports that claimed the Nexus 10 2 will be packaged on a dual core processor only.

Apparently, Google will not release a 16GB version for the Nexus 10 2; thus, it is expected that the 32GB tablet will be released without a supporting SD card port. Although some rumors claim otherwise.

Web leaks point to a 3GB RAM device against previous reports of just 2GB.  Rumor has it that the next Nexus tablet features an 8MP rear camera with a 2.1MP front shooter for video calls.

Nexus 10 2's technology might not be the best in the market, but experts say its projected $399 introductory price would attract a great deal of users who are more financially conscious.  Asus and HTC have been mentioned by some as the manufacturer of the new device, but most analyts are claiming that the Nexus 10 2 will be manufactured by LG.

According to Tech Radar, Google is aiming for a wider fan base through its more affordable price range against Apple's flagship units, which cost nearly twice as much.  Through this, customers will have access to paid applications or services via the Google Play Store as opposed to Apple's App Store.
