'Gilmore Girls' Netflix Reunion News: Upcoming Series Features Present Day, Still Discussing Cast Members?

The favorite comedy drama series "Gilmore Girls" is set to be released in the small screen, and it will reportedly pick up from the series' last episode in 2007.

Netflix has revealed its plans of reviving "Gilmore Girls," according to Enstarz. The publication added that Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos told the press at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour in Pasadena, California, that he could not tell how much about "Gilmore Girls."

Sarandos added that they were still working on "buttoning down" everything before their announcements.

While Sarandos' statement might not have revealed much about the upcoming "Gilmore Girls" reboot series, it was the first official confirmation about the series' revival, since an announcement made in October 2015.

"Gilmore Girls" ran seven seasons and concluded way back 2007. The reboot is set to feature the present time, picking up eight years following the last episode in 2007.

The original "Gillmore Girls" starred Meelissa McCarthy as Sookie St. James, Keiko Agena as Lane Kim, and Yanic Truesdale as Michel Gerard, among others. It is yet to be revealed if they are going to reprise their roles in the upcoming reboot.

According to TV Line, the media streaming company is still discussing with the original "Gilmore Girls" cast members - Lauren Graham (Lorelai Gilmore), Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore), Scott Patterson (Luke Danes), and Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore) - their participation in the reboot.

Amy Sherman-Palladino is set to helm the series, along with her husband Daniel Palladino, who executive produced the original series and will do the same for the forthcoming series reboot. The "Gilmore Girls" reboot is set to have four episodes, each running for 90 minutes and each covering.

The release date of "Gilmore Girls" is yet to be revealed.
