'Ghostbusters 3' Release Date, Cast, Movie Plot: Michael Williams’ Role Confirmed, Slimer Coming Back?

With Paul Feig's upcoming "Ghostbusters" film reboot, Michael Williams' role has been revealed. Also, his character is set to work with the iconic green ectoplasm ghost in the film.

In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, Williams said that he played the FBI agent who worked for the mayor. According to reports, the character's name is Hawkins. He revealed that working with Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Kate McKinnon had been really dope, adding that he had got to work with Slimer.

"Slimer!!! I'm in a scene with Slimer!" Williams said in the interview. For the actor, he was a huge "Ghistbusters" fan and it had been a dream come true.

Made up of pure Ectoplasm, Slimer was the first ghost the Ghostbusters caught successfully. He is iconic for his great appetite and the slime he leaves when he passes through solids. According to Tech Times, the ghost was a common haunt of the Sedgewick Hotel and he became a "pet" of the Ghostbusters. He is also known as Onionhead and Little Spud.

Feig's "Ghostbusters" is the modern iteration of Ivan Reitman's 1984 film of the same name. Aside from Williams, Wiig, McCarthy, McKinnon, and Jones, the upcoming film also stars Chris Hemsworth, Andy Garcia, Neil casey Charles Dance, Elizabeth Perkins, Cecily Strong, Matt Walsh, Pat Kiernan, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and Ozzy Osbourne.

With Feig at the helm of the film, Dan Aykroyd, Katie Dippold, and Harold Ramis are on board to yield the film script.

Feig's "Ghostbusters" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on July 15.
