"Game of Thrones", HBO's new latest craze, is a fantasy drama  based off of Author, George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" fantasy novels. The medieval TV series premiered its first season on April 17 of 2011.

The "Game of Thrones" third season is already underway and gaining viewers by each new episode. The series setting is based on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos, but is actually being filmed in Northern Ireland and Croatia.

The plot is about the Westeros seven kingdoms and the struggles, triumphs and despair of the noble families whom are trying to take control of the "Iron Throne". "Game of Thrones" interweaves throughout multiple plot lines throughout the season by starting with the civil war for the Iron Throne, then the rising threat of winter and the creatures that it brings forth and lastly the attempts of the last scion to reclaim the throne.

The new TV series has accumulated a handful of prestigious awards throughout the three seasons aired including two Emmy awards for Visual/costume effects, and Outstanding actor, a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a mini-series and a Screen Actors Award for Outstanding performance by a stunt ensemble.

The latest episode "Kissed by Fire" slowed the pace down a little bit for fans to catch up on all the new characters that were being introduced into the program.

Writer Bryan Cogman, had one of the  most difficult tasks in collaborating all new cast members into the scenes as precisely and elegantly as possible. With the introduction of  three new cast members and key characters in the fantasy novels, the TV show began to let the viewers really gain a perspective of all the latest characters in the newest episode." It definitely felt like a fan pleasing episode , as plenty of simmering pots finally came to the boil involving various characters . It all seems to be developed well, with things moving slowly( or quickly , as appropriate)" stated Ron Hogan in reviewing the latest episode.

The "Game of Thrones" airs every Sunday at 9 p.m. on HBO.
