Francesca Battistelli Talks Being Nominated for 'Female Artist of the Year' at K-LOVE Fan Awards 2014 (VIDEO INTERVIEW)

Francesca Battistelli met up with BreatheCast at the K-LOVE Fan Awards 2014 this weekend, and shared her excitement over the various events that took place. 

The singer was nominated for "Female Artist of the Year" along with Brit Nicole, Jamie Grace, Natalie Grant, Plumb, and Mandisa, who would later move on to win it.

She performed the previous day at the Songwriter's Showcase, and played her hit song "Write Your Story," off her current album If We're Honest. She was also called on stage to do a song with NEEDTOBREATHE.

If We're Honest, was released on April 22. Its lead single, "Write Your Story," was No. 1 at Hot AC/CHR and AC. Battistelli is the best-selling new Christian music artist in the past 10 years.

The 28-year-old singer/songwriter just wrapped up the "The Bible: SON OF GOD Tour 2014" which ran March 20-April 13. She has been making her rounds in promoting the new record as well as being a wife and full time mother of two young children.

Her first two albums, My Paper Heart and her sophomore release Hundred More Years, hit No. 1 on Billboard's Christian Albums chart and garnered her a GRAMMY nomination and the 2011 Dove Awards' "Artist of the Year" honors. She is the only female vocalist in 21 years to claim the elite title of "Artist of the Year." The last female to win the award was Amy Grant in 1992.
