Final Fantasy 15 Release Date Update: Launch March 2015, Game Plan Details Revealed

Fans of the eagerly anticipated Final Fantasy XV may not be able to get their hands on the newest Square Enix game until March 2015, according to Corporate Executive Shinji Hashimoto.

The long wait may disappoint some fans, but there are rumors that Final Fantasy XV could appear at the Eletronic Entertainment Expo in June, although nothing official has been said about that.

According to Analyst David Gibson, Square Enix might release less games totaling to 12 million units by the end of 2015 fiscal year (3.4 million in Japan, 3.8 million in North America, and 4.8 million in PAL countries), based on a PSU.com report.  When asked on the target release date, Hashimoto said that the company is not revealing information on that and other details will be kept "secret." The Japan-based game developer experienced financial difficulty in the last fiscal year with a $65 million profit and five million sales report.

It is not also clear if Final Fantasy XV will appear on Electronic Entertainment Expo in June 10 to 12.  However, the Square Enix representative emphasized that there are still other events like San Diego Comic-Con and Tokyo Game Show among others where FF XV might appear together with Kingdom Hearts 3.

According to Square Enix's website, the game revolves around the story of five characters namely Noctis, Gladiolus, Ignis, Promopto, and Cor.

"These five characters will be wrapped around a plot of two kingdoms in a cold war. This war is about the possession of a crystal which is the last one in existence. However, when a magic barrier which nulls the use of weapons falls around the kingdom of Rushisu, an invasion occurs from their aggressors. Noctis and his allies afterwards are involved in an all-out war over the crystal," according to OnlySP.com.

Square Enix have confirmed that Final Fantasy XV will be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
