'Final Fantasy 15' Release Date: Jahime Tabata Talks Game’s Linear Structure, Screenshots

Along with the release of a screens gallery, Square Enix's "Final Fantasy 15" has become more linear, according to game director Hajime Tabata.

In his interview at PAX West, as cited by IGN, Tabata explained the reason behind the game's linear structure. He told the publication that rather than it being the latter half, it was actually very close to the end of the game.

Tabata also mentioned that he had not wanted to end the game in an open world type of environment and at there was a build up in the sotory at the very end, when the main character and the villain were going against one anther.

For tabata, he had wanted to ensure that the last part had been a little bit different from the open world environment and more of a packed and condensed typo of game experience.

The story stands as the primary focus of the gameplay, according to Tabata. In the same interview, he said that once the train sequence started, the whoe structure of the game changed drastically, where it was really focused on the story developments and developing in a fast-paced kind of fashion thereafter.

Tabata explained that one would not be able to physically go back and forth between the two areas and he would be able to go back to that open world through the menu; thus, one would still be able to experience the adventure that waited hm, which amounted to more than 200 hours of gameplay.

For tabata, after the entire train sequence, it epsodically went through the story and took it up to the end.

In line with the game, Square Enix has also released a photo galler, which can be seen in Polygon. The shots include game art director Yusuke Naora, Noctis and the game characters and their powers, an animal and game landscape, the city life, and a human arthropoid villain.

"Final Fantasy 15' is set to be released for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on Nov. 29.
