'Fear The Walking Dead' Season 1 Spoilers: Episode 2 ‘So Close, Yet So Far’ Synopsis Released [VIDEO]

The 90-minute premiere of 'Fear The Walking Dead,' a companion zombie series of AMC's 'The Walking Dead,' created a new viewership record in the history of cable TV series. With a strong opening and numerous new characters firmly established in the viewers' imagination, fans have already started wondering what will come next.

TV Guide has already released official synopsis for 'Fear the Walking Dead' Season 1 episode 2 titled 'So Close, Yet So Far' online. The synopsis reveals that things will start in the same uncertainty as they were left in the show's pilot episode. As Nick (Frank Dillane), his mother Madison (Kim Dickens) and her boyfriend Travis (Cliff Curtis) have realized the fact that zombies do exist, now they will require adapting to the situation quickly. Unluckily, it appears as if the walkers will be the least of their concerns in the upcoming episode.

According to the preview synopsis, "As Madison struggles to keep Nick from crippling withdrawal; Travis ventures out to find his son before Los Angeles falls."

For the uninitiated, Fear the Walking Dead' episode 1 ended with Nick, who had recently escaped from the hospital where he was undergoing detoxification from drug use, finding his former dealer and getting into a brawl over a gun. After Nick shoots the man who was trying to kill him, Frank, Travis and Madison encounter a walker for the first time in the light of day. Meanwhile, the police in the city of Los Angeles appear to be prudent to the zombie outbreak as a newly released video clip shows police encountering an apparently immortal "infected" person on the highway.

Apparently, the main focus of the 'So Close, Yet So Far' will be to handle the logistics of these problems. Nick is a great character, who in a way was the first to discover zombies all through the pilot episode. Despite his drug addiction, it was surprising to see his head cool at times. However, keeping him healthy as well as alive will be a major problem right now, irrespective of zombies or no zombies.

In the meantime, fans may possibly find the idea of Travis doing anything "before Los Angeles falls" amazing considering the fact that they have been expecting a slower burn on 'Fear the Walking Dead.' The show's producers have, meanwhile, said that it will take about two seasons before the new series draws level with the first episode of 'The Walking Dead,' which premiered in 2010.

While the pilot episode of 'Fear The Walking Dead' showed the people of Los Angeles in the initial stages of realizing that something is extremely wrong, it appears that episode 2 will delve deeper into the mounting civil unrest in the city. In effect, a preview clip for 'So Close, Yet So Far' reveals the characters' world in more confusion compared to what is expected after the first episode.

The clip also shows Madison reuniting with Tobias (Lincoln A. Castellanos) in a deserted high school. They are seen stealing as much canned food from the cafeteria as possible prior to stumbling upon Art (Scott Lawrence), who may or may not be, but almost certainly is, a zombie.

'Fear the Walking Dead' Season 1 episode 2 titled 'Fear the Walking Dead' airs on Sunday, Aug. 30, at 9:00 p.m. EDT on AMC.
