'Fast and Furious 7' Release Date News: Vin Diesel Claims Seventh Film Part of New Trilogy

The official trailer for the upcoming 'Furious 7' film has been released. It is the seventh movie in 'The Fast and the Furious' series, which are all basically about badly behaved men and their super fast cars.

The first movie was made in 2001 and was about street clubs that race cars at night. The film revolved around Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his friends, Jesse (Chad Lindberg), Leon (Johnny Strong), Vince (Matt Schultz), and Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) who are suspected of stealing expensive electronic equipment.

The late Paul Walker played Brian O'Conner, the undercover police officer who is trying to track down the gear and, therefore, them. As one might guess, there are lot of car chases and fight scenes in the films.

The series is known for its over-the-top stunts and 'Furious 7' will be no exception. The trailer shows things like cars parachuting out of an airplane, a bus with machine guns apparently built into it, and one character running up a bus that's plummeting down a cliff, jumping off said bus, and landing on an ally's car.

According to actor Vin Diesel, 'Furious 7' is supposed to be the first movie in a new trilogy. Universal Studios had originally planned to release the movie in the summer of 2014 - until the death of series star Paul Walker in late 2013.

Fans can expect to catch 'Furious 7' in theaters when the film releases in April 2015.
