Fast and Furious 7 News: Kurt Russell Describes Film Changes as 'The Worst Thing That Could Happen to a Movie'

Kurt Russell was cast as a father figure to Paul Walker's character, Brian O'Connor, in Fast and Fast Furious 7 before Walker's death. He recently spoke to journalists about the modifications that have been made to the new film without its top star.

Russell attended the Sundance Film Festival to endorse a documentary film called, "The Battered Bastards of Baseball."

"They're having to rewrite, they're having to do whatever they're having to do to deal with the situation. Listen, it's catastrophic. It's the worst thing that could happen to a movie, but it's not as bad as what happened to Paul," said Russell in a conversation with reporters at the Sundance Film Festival.

The star of the "Escape from New York" film then described his relationship with Walker.

''So everything is in perspective. He was a terrific guy. And life is full of curveballs. So everything is in perspective," said the 62-year old actor. "It's just a situation that they'll work out and, at that time, I'll go back to work."

Russell only needed one more day in order to shoot all of his scenes in the new film prior to Walker's untimely death.

"I don't know what is going to happen with that. It's obviously a difficult situation," said Russell to reporters regarding the Brian O'Connor role in the future.

Vin Diesel revealed a picture of Walker, Russell, and himself on the film's set.

"Whether or not this guy dies off in the movie, we don't know, and that may have changed now significantly, too," said Russell to a journalist at the Sundance film festival referring to his Fast and the Furious role.
