Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson Likened to John The Baptist by His Son Al, 'He Ate off the Land...Pointed People to Christ (VIDEO)

Duck Dynasty Season 6 reality star Phil Robertson has been compared by other people to the biblical prophet John the Baptist, especially by his own son Al.

"My dad, Phil Robertson, has the heart and the mindset of a prophet... long hair, long beard, naturally camouflaged, he ate off the land and he pointed people to Christ," said Alan Robertson, according to a Fox News report. "He was a voice of one, calling in the wilderness, prepare the way for the Lord."

The eldest son of Phil and Miss Kay Robertson further expressed his views on his father's boldness of preaching the gospel, similar to the way the New Testament prophet did 2,000 years ago.

"He [John] also lost his head for speaking the truth in a culture that really wasn't prepared to hear truth," said Al Robertson. "And yet, you know what - that doesn't change dad's view at all. Prophets tend to not care about their public image, they tend to talk about judgment as if it's real and they speak what God gives them to speak and that's what my dad does... so he is in that sense a 21st Century prophet."

In another article, the Pastor continued to make comparisons between the Duck Commander founder and the man who was decapitated when he told Herod Antipas that his incestuous relationship between his wife Herodias (who was not only his brother Philip's ex-wife but also Herod's niece) and her daughter was a sin in the eyes of the almighty God.

"How many people make their way out just to talk to my dad about the good news of Jesus Christ? And so he was a lot like John the Baptist. He is that guy," said Al Robertson, according to CNS News.

Season 6 of the critically acclaimed reality series Duck Dynasty airs every Wednesday at 10:00 p.m. EST on the A&E network.
