'Difficult People' Series Renewal News: Hulu Renews 'Difficult People' for Season 2

Difficult People, Hulu's original series, will run for a second season, according to the online service. The comedy starring Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner will see a second season of 10 episodes, and both the stars are returning to the comedy produced by Universal Cable Productions.

"We have been big fans of Difficult People from day one and are so happy to have Julie and Billy be part of the Hulu family," Craig Eriwch, Hulu's SVP and Head of Content said.

"I cannot wait to see what a whole new season will bring and am pleased to bring more of their hilarious brand of comedy to fans."

Klausner and Eichner play friends who live in New York City. They are both atypical and irreverent, and their weird behavior often lands them in hot social soup.

Aside from being a star on the show, Klausner is also the creator and executive producer of the hit. Co-executive producers are Amy Poehler, Dave Becky (Louie) and Tony Hernandez from Jax Media. Scott King serves as showrunner,Klausner and King wrote all of season 1's episodes.

"I'm the luckiest girl in the world to be able to make more episodes of Difficult People," Klausner stated. "This must be what it feels like to win the lottery, have a fast metabolism or win an Oscar for My Cousin Vinny."

Difficult People's pickup is another example of how Hulu is consistent with the streaming service's efforts to promote original series'.

Other offerings include Jason Katmis' drama The Way, Casual, by Jason Reitman and J.J. Brahms' Bad Robot Production's 11/22/63, which is based on Stephen King's bestseller.

On a side note, Hulu has also picked up The Mindy Project, season 4 from Fox.
