'Devious Maids' News & Update: Roselyn Sanchez Going To Star In New Lifetime Project?

Roselyn Sanchez's "Devious Maids" character Carmen Luna might have sung her last note in the series, but the actress is set to return to Lifetime with a new big project.

Sanchez is set to star in "Death of a Vegas Showgirl," a new film based on the real story of professional dancer Debbie Flores, who went missing the night before she was supposed to have her debut as the lead star in a major theater production. The actress is also set to executive produce the film, alongside her husband Eric Winter of "Witches of East End."

According to Lifetime, "the investigation into Debbie's disappearance reveals the twisted depth of a love story gone wrong that ends in a sordid death that shocked Las Vegas--and the world-- with its gruesome and tragic details." The network also revealed that actor Danso Gordon of "Hang Time" will play the love interest of Roselyn Sanchez in the film.

"Death of a Vegas Showgirl" was written by Brian D. Young and directed by Penelope Buitenhuis. Other executive producers include Scott W. Anderson, Howard Buraunstein and Brian D. Young.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed recently that "Devious Maids" will no longer be renewed for a new season. Lifetime has officially cancelled the show, so there won't be a fifth season for the drama series.

"Devious Maids" season 4 ended a couple of weeks ago. The series chronicles the lives of four Latina maids and is a brainchild of "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria. It piloted on ABC but eventually migrated to Lifetime.
