Devin McGlamery Love Is A Verb Releases May 21, 2013
StowTown Records will release the debut solo project from popular Ernie Haase & Signature Sound vocalist, Devin McGlamery, on May 21. A special release party concert will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at The Listening Room in Nashville, TN at 6 PM and will feature a live band and special guests. Admission is free and copies of the project will be available at a special rate of $10 for one night only.
"This is a dream come true," exclaimed Devin McGlamery. "I've wanted to record a solo project for so long - to see this day come closer is almost surreal. I am like a kid at Christmas, it's almost here!"
The release, containing 12 tracks, has a little bit of something for everyone. "Anyone who knows me well, knows that I love all styles of music and I think you will hear that reflected" shares McGlamery. From time-tested classics to brand-new tunes, the CD is highlighted by special guest appearances from some of Devin's personal music heroes and best friends in the industry. "I had a wish list when I began recording and I am blown away that all of my heroes and friends said YES!" The title track, "Love Is AVerb," gets a little help from up-and-coming progressive trio, Beyond The Ashes, while Dailey and Vincent are featured on "From My Rags to His Riches." "Beyond The Ashes have become dear friends to me so sharing the title track with them is special. In the bluegrass world, there's none better than Dailey & Vincent, so to have them on this project is an honor!"
A very special performance comes as Devin sings the tender ballad "While I Still Can," with Karen Peck & New River. This is a remake of the popular song Devin sang with the group. "This song means so much more to me, now that my children are a little older. I see moments slipping by and I want to cherish them while I still can. It was special to sing this with my mentor and friend Karen Peck and the group." "Up Above My Head" fulfilled a life-long dream for Devin as he stood beside his childhood musical hero, Russ Taff, to record the track. "I still can't believe that I got to sing with Russ Taff! Are you kidding me? I'm glad to have it "on record" because I wouldn't believe it. The amount of respect and admiration I have for Russ Taff cannot be explained in words and we had so much fun in the studio."
Rounding out the special guests are Devin's musical brothers, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, featured on the track, "That's Why." "Ernie, Doug and Paul are my best bro's, my workout buds, my musical family - I had to have them on this. It just wouldn't be complete."
When asked about meaning of the title, Love Is A Verb, Devin reflects: "I try to live this song out every single day. The people in your life - the people that speak into you and keep you going - don't just assume they know you love and appreciate them. Tell them, often. Love is a verb - show it!"
In addition to his busy tour schedule with Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Devin has scheduled a limited number of solo concert dates.
