'Destiny' PC Release Date Latest News: PC Version Launch Stalled, Xbox One, PS4 Set for Sept. 9 Debut

Fans of 'Destiny' are thrilled as a large billboard has come up in New York City announcing that the online first-person shooter game will be released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 9. However, the PC release of the game has been delayed until 2015.

Substantiating the delay in releasing 'Destiny' for the PC, design leader Lar Bakker clarified that it is only owing to the fact that the PC version of the game is much more difficult to develop. He further said that though it is not happening now, it doesn't mean that it is not happening. However, he did not specify any date for the release of the PC version.

With the developers, Bungie, announcing the 'Destiny' release date for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, fans are scavenging the Internet for clues as to when and from where they can purchase the game and play it. They are also busy speculating about the possible upgrades and enhancements on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game.

Bungie launched the beta phase of the highly anticipated game on July 17 and also made it available for Xbox One and Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3 users. According to the developer, the beta phase was not only a great success, but it resulted in further fan based excitement, which will be over soon as the game launches next week.

On a side note, Bungie has already posted a message on its official Facebook page thanking all the fans who have supported the beta-testing. The developer said that they are hoping to keep the game in orbit for a long time.
