‘Despicable Me’ Prequel Movie, ‘Minions,’ Release Date Delayed: Sandra Bullock as Super Villain

The minions from 'Despicable Me' will be returning to the big screen this time in a new movie entitled 'Minions'.

The spin-off film will be a prequel to the "Despicable Me" movie. It will show these "pill shaped yellow creatures that talk with a funky jerbish language," according to Movie Pilot.

Unfortunately, Gru will not be joining the cast this time. It is reported that the whole story will revolve around the minions themselves, and involve interesting historical events in which the minions were once a part of.

The casting for some of the voices in the film has been disclosed. Sandra Bullock will be the voice of the Minion super villain, Scarlet Overkill, and Al Pacino will be joining the "bad guys" as the voice of the gang leader.

The movie is set in the 1960's and will reveal the story of how the minions were able to put down a tyrant. On the search for a new master, they meet Miss Overkill, who despite her "Audrey Hepburn" style has deep desires to rule the world and become the first woman super-villain.

'Minions' is directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, and it was originally set to release on December 19, 2014, but was extended to July 10, 2015.
