'Dateline' Premiere Live Stream, Spoilers, NBC Start Time: Episode to Feature Seth Techel Murder Case Tonight

'Dateline', the weekly reality style legal show on NBC, will air on Friday, Sept. 26, at 9.00 pm EDT with a special two-hour show on the Seth Techel murder case. This has been confirmed by 'Dateline NBC' producer Fred Rothenberg himself.

Talking to the Ottumwa Courier, Rothenberg said, "Mystery twists and turns - this has it all."

Twenty-three-year-old Seth Techel, a rural agency man, was sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of first-degree murder, in addition to non-consensual termination of a human pregnancy.

A report by Ottumwa Courier said, "After two other trials ended in hung juries, a Scott County jury found Techel guilty of killing his wife, Lisa Caldwell Techel, along with the Techels' unborn baby, with a 12-gauge shotgun blast May 26, 2012. The case is going through an appeal process."

It's worth it to note that the show's interest started when Lisa's father and Wapello County Sheriff's Deputy Todd Caldwell sent an email to 'Dateline' requesting they stay away from his late daughter's story, but asked the show for the contact information of a particular law enforcer, who was in the same boat as Caldwell.

On the other hand, 'Dateline' producer Fred Rothenberg learned about the Techel case when the first trial of the case ended in a hung jury. In fact, affiliate station, Channel 13 WHO, was able to pursue the arrest as well as the trial of Techel for years and it was through them, 'Dateline obtained the footage set to be featured in the premiere episode.

The premiere episode will be presented in 12 "acts" and separated by commercials. It will tie up the loose ends of the murder story and also reveal some shocking details, including what "Todd does for a hobby."
