Daredevil TV Series Casting News: True Blood Actress to Play Major Role

In 2003 a superhero film entitled 'Daredevil' hit the big screen with Ben Affleck as the blind comic hero Matt Murdock. Apparently, the Daredevil is going to make a comeback into the spotlight next year, but this time on TV sets.

The Marvel comic TV adaptation is set to be aired sometime in 2015 on Netflix.

The 'Daredevil' TV adaptation is the first among a series of projects produced in a joint collaboration by comic giant Marvel and Internet entertainment titan Netflix.

In light of this news, 'True Blood' actress Deborah Ann Woll has been chosen to play Karen Page, Murdock's official love interest in the comic series.

In the 2003 film by Century Fox, the blind superhero's love life was altered when the film's producers decided to pair Murdock with Elektra, the female ninja character played by Affleck's real-life love Jennifer Garner. It can be recalled that this prompted outrage from Daredevil comic fans worldwide.

This time, however, the 13-episode television adaptation promises to stand by the comic's original story.

Woll will be joined by 'Boardwalk Empire' star Charlie Cox, who is set to play the Daredevil himself, Matt Murdock.

Cox is an English actor whose first notable appearance was in the 2011 TV series Moby Dick; while Deborah Ann Woll's first shot to fame when she took on the role of victim-turned-vampire Jessica Hamby in the longest-running HBO vampire tv drama 'True Blood'.

Joining Cox and Woll include, 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay' star Elden Henson (set to play Murdock's best friend and legal partner), 'Men in Black' star Vincent D'Onofrio (who will play Kingpin), 'Hell's Kitchen's' crime lord and 'Sin City' actress Rosario Dawson whose role in the series has been kept a secret so far by the Marvel series producers.
