'Daredevil' Season 3 Release Date, Cast News: D'Onofrio Unveils Kingpin Will Be Back

D'Onofrio's portrayal of Wilson Fisk a.k.a. Kingpin is one of the best portrayals of a comic-book villain ever made on television. Unfortunately, much of "Daredevil" season 2 sidelined the character. As the 3rd season of the series nears, fans are excited to know how much of the upcoming season will feature Kingpin.

It can be recalled that the season 2 finale saw Kingpin behind bars. If there is one thing that viewers know about the upcoming season, it's that D'Onofrio's character will continue to be involved in the story.

While the future beyond remains unclear for the character, D'Onofrio confirmed in his recent interview with IGN that much is in store for Kingpin, though he's not certain if that's in "The Defenders," "The Punisher" or "Daredevil 3."

"I can't say a word. I can say that Charlie Cox and I love working together. And I know that because of Jeph's love of the character and the Daredevil series, that that's probably not finished, that whole deal when it comes to Fisk. But when and where and how is not something I can talk about," he explained.

"I know that there's anybody that knows the whole Daredevil and Punisher series, they know that there's a lot of Fisk in there. I love it because it shoots from New York and I can be home with my family and play this incredible character. For me, that first season that Steven DeKnight wrote is just so spectacular. The few episodes that I did in the second season... was it one or two? I can't remember. But those were really well-written also. As long as the writing stays as good as that, I'm going to be there whenever they ask me to," he said.

Netflix has yet to announce the official release date of "Daredevil" season 3.
