'Daredevil' Cast News, Rumors: Vincent D'Onofrio to Take on MCU's Spider-Man?

In a recent interview with IGN, 'Daredevil' Kingpin actor, Vincent D'Onofrio, voiced his public opinion on how he would feel facing off with Spider-Man at some point.

In the comics, Kingpin is quite the reoccurring villain for the webslinger, and now that the character is finally back in the hands of Marvel, this match-up could be very possible.

"That would be super-cool, yeah," states D'Onofrio, "To be able to kick Spider-Man's butt would be awesome."

"But we just don't know about those things. Those are all the Marvel secrets that they never tell us until they need us, so... Yeah, I would do it. I would do it in a second."

Fans would surely enjoy such an occasion, but it's very early for both the characters in the MCU, in fact Spider-Man hasn't even officially been cast yet.

The actor goes on to speak on what drew him to the role in this Netflix series. He states:

"[It] was just an incredible conversation and during the conversation I realized how much I actually did know of Daredevil's origin story, and I guess I had read a couple of [the comics] as a kid, but I didn't remember. And [we talked] about the new Fisk. This Fisk that [showrunner] Steven DeKnight was writing and that Jeph wanted to do, which made this Netflix/Marvel series. From that call I think I committed to the project."

He also comments on the new take on the villain.

"You know, they wanted him brought in as a human, as a real kind of, just a man, who eventually turns into this iconic character. So that's a fun job. I mean I thought right away, 'That's fantastic.' You can do so many cool things with that."
