Christian singer and former 'American Idol' finalist Danny Gokey has partnered up with the Gospel Music Association to offer a special "Getaway Contest" with the grand prize being a trip to the 45th Dove Awards.

The "Danny Gokey Getaway Contest" will be giving nine grand prize winners a trip for two to this year's Dove Awards which is on October 7. The contest will take place on DannyGokey.com or on participating radio stations.

For people who go to Gokey's website, they are able to enter their story of hope and share it through social media. Friends and family then vote on the story for the chance to win the grand prize.

The singer will be talking about the contest tomorrow on Twitter at 7:00 p.m. CST at #GokeyGetaway.

"Danny Gokey is a man who has encountered God in very personal ways and has managed to craft his pain and his triumphs into this project making for a powerful and enjoyable musical experience," said Jackie Patillo, President and Executive Director, Gospel Music Association in a press release.

The Dove Awards is a platform that brings the Christian/Gospel community together to celebrate all the great ways the gospel is being spread through music. It's the biggest night in Gospel Music!"

The grand prize features two tickets to the Dove Awards on October 7, VIP Meet & Greet with Danny before the show, round trip air fare for two, hotel accommodations for two for two nights, transportation in Nashville, and meals per diem. The contest began yesterday and will go until August 18.
