Da' T.R.U.T.H.'s 'Heartbeat' Featuring Lecrae Released as First Single; 'I Had a Few More Things that I Wanted to Share' (MUSIC)

Christian rapper, Da' T.R.U.T.H. released the title track single off of his chart topping release "Heartbeat" which features Reach Records emcee Lecrae, and singer Lauren Lee.

Da' T.R.U.T.H. partnered with Grammy Award winning producer J.R. to produce his 7th studio release 'Heartbeat' on Mixed bag Music group. The album was released Apr. 15th and his latest single off the album pierces right through to the heart.

"I originally planned to step away from music until 2015 to focus on Mixed Bag Entertainment, but after almost a year of watching & observing the culture, I realized that I had a few more things that I wanted to share," the rapper told NewMusicTuesday about his music and company. "What started as a 3-5 song EP, became a full length album. This record is fun - it's experimental, gritty and engaging, and having my longtime friend help me to shape the project makes it that much more enjoyable," Da' T.R.U.T.H. continued.

The album Heartbeat features prominent artists such as Lecrae, Chris August, Canon, Papa San, Capital Kings, along with newly signed artists and many others. Along with J.R., the album also featured production by Grammy Award Winning Producer - Symbolyc One (S1), and Nashville producers Justin Ebach (Newsboys), and Alex Medina along with a few newer names.

Da' T.R.U.T.H., who goes by "Manny" to his family, first got into music as a teenager, listening to contemporary Christian music and becoming a talented drummer. He said, "I had no interest in rap music. As a matter of fact, I was disenchanted with the whole idea of rap." However, Da' T.R.U.T.H. soon discovered his gift of free-styling, co-founded the group NIV, and gained his new nickname at the age of 19 to minister "da truth"

The rapper has gone on to receive a Stellar awards and Grammy and Dove Award nominations. His album THE BIG PICTURE was the first Christian Hip-Hop CD to debut in the #1 spot on the iTunes Christian and Gospel chart.
