Pastor Creflo Dollar Reveals Prostate Cancer Diagnosis; Says God Healed it with 'Laughter' (VIDEO)

The Christian world has had many of its key figures in ministry become diagnosed with cancer as of late. Legendary Christian singer Carman and Worship Pastor Darlene Zschech recently broke the news of their cancer diagnosis. Now, mega church Pastor Creflo Dollar went on the Rickey Smiley radio show and revealed the shocking news of his 2013 cancer threat.

Pastor Dollar revealed on a radio interview this week that the day after he made his acting television debut on The Rickey Smiley Show sitcom in 2013, he was diagnosed with a rare form of prostate cancer.

"I had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer and I was like let me deal with this, and I received a call from one of your staff and I thought I don't know if I'm gonna do this right now and I prayed about it and the Lord said laughter works like medicine, you need to go do it."

He then described how making the decision to go through with the show made him feel better. "When I got there we laughed all day long, I was going through some things physically, I was dizzy I was a little weak... but the laughter started working like medicine. And there is nothing like when you can forget about yourself and focus in on other people," he said.

The Atlanta based Dollar credits that day to his healing, and he encouraged Smiley to continue with his comedic ministry, adding, "When you minister laughter, you minister joy to people and that laughter will help their lives. And I sit here today 100 percent totally completely healed of it. I'm in the best shape of my entire life." He then went on to tell Smiley that he and the family played a big part in making him laugh on a day when he "didn't have much to laugh about."

Pastor Dollar opened up about the cancer diagnosis and healing after discussing the fears that plague people during the illness while he was promoting his new book Overcoming Fear. The pastor's testimony is perhaps the first time he has mentioned the cancer threat outside of his ministry.

A church congregant of the pastor stated on her blog simplyjuliana.com that it was a quick recovery for Dollar.

"He told Taffy [his wife] not to let ANYONE talk to him for two weeks (I thought of this afterward). He went to their bedroom and closed the door and went into a time of fasting and prayer. At the end of two weeks, he went back to his doctor and there was no sign of cancer anywhere in his body!" wrote the blogger.
