Colton Dixon to Perform New Single on American Idol Tonight

Tonight on Fox, "American Idol" will reveal the contestants who survived the Top 8 down to the Top 7 for next week.

Each week on elimination night, American Idol brings in one or two special guest performances.  This season they have had in Idol alums Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez hit the stage this year, along with pop stars Ne-Yo and rock band Bon Jovi among others.

Tonight though, fellow American Idol alum, Colton Dixon, will be making a special appearance back on the Idol stage.  Dixon was on Season 11 of American Idol and quickly became a fan favorite.  He had a shocking exit in the Top 7 but had already made his mark on the show.

Dixon released his first record, A Messenger, in January of this year.  The album has already produced two #1 singles on Christian radio, "Never Gone" and "You Are".

In our exclusive interview with Colton Dixon yesterday, he shared with us that he would be performing his new single on American Idol tonight.  He has not able to tell us which song off his album it would be, but what an exciting way to introduce it to the world.  He did say this about the song, "it's definitely leaning on more the up tempo side, so there is definitely going to be a lot of energy coming from the stage tomorrow night."

Let us know which song you think Colton Dixon will be debuting tomorrow on American Idol as his new single?
