CM Punk, AJ Lee Update: TNA Denied Offering Phil Brooks Top of the Line Contract

While fans are getting hopeful for the return of CM Punk in the wrestling arena, TNA has denied the claim made by previous reports that a top spot is been offered to CM Punk for his comeback. CM Punk, original name Phil Brooks, had officially retired from wrestling this year in January when he abruptly left WWE.

Rumors were surfacing for few weeks that CM Punk has been reached by TNA officials and was offered to become the No. 1 face of the wrestling company. The deal would have landed him a somewhat similar payroll as Hulk Hogan who makes $75,000 every wrestling night.

However TNA is denying of any such offer to have ever existed, "No offer was made, officially or via an intermediary - no truth to that rumor," a source within TNA told.

Even a source from CM Punk's side has claimed that the wrestler is officially retired and has no intention of returning to sport for now, offers are made or not.

CM Punk left WWE as he felt his character was used by the company and the traveling schedule left him burned out. The ex-wrestler has made many appearances in public since his frustrated walkout from WWE. The most hyped appearance was at the AP Music Awards where Punk declared he is never ever returning to the ring.

Meanwhile things have gone sour between WWE and CM Punk's wife AJ Lee who recently won WWE Diva championship, the other night. As her fans chanted CM Punk's name on her victory, speculations are growing that WWE may make it a stand to fire her.

However with her popularity among WWE fans, it is very unlikely the company would take such risky decision anytime soon.
