Cleveland Cavaliers News, NBA Rumors 2014: Ray Allen's Open Spot for Cleveland?

Fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers are waiting to see who turns to be the fifteenth player on the team for the 2014-2015 NBA season. As it stands, Chris Crawford and Stephen Halt round out the roster, but rumor has it that the last spot is being kept open for Ray Allen.

Evidently, Allen has not yet signed a contract with the franchise, which is probably why the Cavaliers still have a slot open on their roster. However, Cleveland manager David Griffin recently said that his team is ready for Allen, who has already made his decision.

"I think in his case when he decides this is something he's passionate about we are going to be more than willing to let him know how passionate we are about him," Griffin said, "I don't think we would ever give up on it,"

He went on to say, "Until he signs that is going to be a target for everybody. Ray is somebody that fits us as a shooter. His championship pedigree fits us at a really high level."

What's more is that Allen has been strategically linked to Cleveland, and to LeBron James for the duration of the summer. Some analysts feel that the pair would be quite unstoppable on the court.

However, Ray Allen has not officially announced his decision, he said, "I'm not in any rush [to make a decision]. I've played 18 years, and the way I look at my career, I'm content with everything that I've done. I just want to take this summer and see how it goes."

As it stands, many fans are hoping Allen decides to join up as that will certainly increase the team's chances of winning the championship this year.
