Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Rumors, News 2014: Injury Rumors Denied, Team Aims for Playoffs

Just when the Cavaliers looked good to go for the upcoming NBA season, rumors of injury ridden stars are flying thick and fast on the East Coast. The Cavaliers made a big splash with the inclusion of LeBron and they looked confident in making it to the playoffs. Now, it looks like they are set for a shaky start.

First up was Kyrie Irving with his ankle sprain, which the Cavaliers could swallow, but the neck and back injury of Kevin Love is set to upset the apple cart. The team which is in serious contention for the Championship cannot afford to lose the health of its players.

Therefore, head coach David Blatt has limited LeBron from playing too many games in the pre-season. Fans may be disappointed, but the coach feels this should not come at the cost of the team not making it to the playoffs. The marquee player who is the home favorite is being zealously guarded from hurting himself, as he is the best bet for the Cavaliers.

Even though Davis Blatt played down the injury of Kevin Love and has indicated that he will play the pre-season game against Dallas Mavericks. The coach is also keen to get Kyrie back on the court to play some pre-season games.

The coach and the team know that they still need to iron out a few issues before they start their NBA season campaign. They are up against New York Knicks, who is not in great shape either, but coach Davis Blatt knows nothing is impossible and they cannot afford to be complacent.
