Christian Singer Angie Miller on American Idol Receives Hero’s Welcome in MA Hometown

19-year old Angie Miller, along with the remaining top 3 candidates on American Idol, Candice Glover and Kree Harrison, spent the weekend visiting their respective home communities. Miller, who originally hails from Beverly, Massachusetts, received a hero's welcome on her ride through town.

Miller has been somewhat of an odd card in a competition which since its inception has not exactly embraced the Christian faith. However, faith is something Miller has been pretty consistent about, and during the hometown visit showed her supporters how much she truly appreciates them, and the opportunity she has received to use her talent to praise God on national television.

On Miller's visit back home, she first had a meet-and-greet at Centerville Elementary School, and then rode in a celebrative parade down Cabot Street to give a free concert at Beverly High School. More than 6,000 showed up for the concert where Miller performed, estimates say.

The current season of American Idol is now on its last leg, which will decide who among the remaining three will receive a solo recording deal. Miller however does not let the heat of the competition get the better of her. Regardless of how the competition ends, Miller said she has learned about herself both musically and as a person, The Boston Globe reports.

"I've established myself as a person more and I feel like that's such an important thing in this competition." Continuing, she said, "I feel like that's one of the most important things. I know who I am more and I'm excited to go out there and show myself as an artist. I'm excited."
